The Deserts of Asia | The Factroom

 The Gobi desert is one of the largest deserts in Asia while the Artic and Antarctic deserts are the largest in the world. Now we can dig up information about the Asian deserts. The Thar, Karakum and Taklamakan are different deserts in Asia.


FLORA

The Siberian nitre bush, tamarisks, Echinochloa (a type of grass found in warm regions) are common in some Asian deserts. Adenium(desert rose), date palms, acacia trees are common in these regions.



FAUNA

Several species like gazelles, hedgehogs, snow leopards and monitor lizards are common in the Asian deserts.

LIFE OF THE PEOPLE OF THE ASIAN DESERTS

The Gobi desert was ruled by the Manchus in the 20th century. The people living there led a nomadic life. In the Arabian desert, the major group is Arabs; they follow islam and speak Arabic. The desert is famous for petroleum. The Taklamakan desert is known for the shooting of different chinese series and movies where international actors unite.
